At the Costmetik Clinic we have introduced our well-being room, enabling us to take a holistic approach to health and wellness.
Complementary therapies such as massage and flotation share a common principle, which is that the whole person needs to be treated to restore health and vitality. So, our treatments are designed to address issues such as stress, depression or emotional problems by creating a feeling of wellness through relaxation.
Our well being room is also available to hire for group events. You can book a whole host of treatments from our full range including all facial and skin rejuvenation procedures as well as massage and flotation tanks.

Our Treatments
The Cosmetik Clinic has practitioners who are licensed and qualified to perform a range of well being treatments including:
Massage treatments involve hands-on techniques to increase circulation, relieve tension, reduce stress, relieve anxiety, improve sleep, and promote relaxation throughout the entire body, as well as many other benefits. The body’s soft tissue areas include the muscles, tendons, connective tissue, etc. If someone is tense and in need of a release, or they have been injured and have extensive muscle and/or nerve tissue damage that plagues their body, massage therapy might be worth exploring.
When the body is tense and under stress, it produces unhealthy levels of the well-known stress hormone, cortisol, which can contribute to weight gain, sleeplessness, digestive problems, and headaches. Massage therapy has been shown to decrease cortisol levels in the body. This enables the body to enter a recovery mode. Moreover, this form of therapy also triggers lasting feelings of relaxation, improved mood, and reduced stress levels.
Not only can massage therapy help with stress relief, but regular massage sessions over a prolonged period of time can boost energy levels, reduce pain, and stimulate individuals on physical as well as emotional levels.
The purpose of massage therapy is to target the source of the body’s pain via eliminating tense muscles, increasing flexibility, and providing relaxation to the affected muscles as well as the body as a whole. Massage also promotes circulation to the affected or injured muscles, which increases nutrients and oxygen to the damaged tissues. In turn, this increased activity to the affected sites reduces stiffness and edema (swelling) in the muscles and joints, as well as increases flexibility to help reduce pain.
This form of therapy also releases endorphins (pain-killing hormones), which boost the dopamine and serotonin levels in the body. These hormones assist the body in many ways–physically as well as emotionally. Case in point, they promote healing, pain management, and feelings of euphoria, as well as help to calm the nerves.

Flotation, also known as floating, is a practice where you float effortlessly in a special pod of water. Without the constant noise of analysing the world around you, your body lowers its levels of cortisol (which is the main chemical component of stress). Your brain releases elevated levels of endorphins
A flotation treatment in one of our pods will give your muscles, joints, and bones take a well-deserved break. Your mind will become still and your body suddenly has loads of extra resources, which allows it to focus on things like healing and resting; the stress simply floats away. The spine lengthens an inch, chronic pain is relieved, and your muscles are allowed to fully recover. Unlike lying on a mattress, lying in water allows blood to flow freely all throughout your body.
Around 40 minutes into your float at the Cosmetik Clinic, your brain stops producing its normal Alpha waves and starts churning out Theta waves. The Theta state is typically associated with advanced meditative techniques and provides an immense clarity of thought and an experience of the pure essence of being.
The salts we use in our pods are also good for you as they soften and replenish your skin, and help counteract the magnesium deficiency that most of us have due to depleted magnesium levels in our food.
Our Treatments
You can book individual, group or multiple flotation bookings or enjoy a complete day out by including facial treatments and massage either before or after your flotation session.

What Is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of awareness; it differs from other forms of Yoga as it combines the 7 facets of yoga in every class.
- Pranayam (breathing techniques)
- Asanas (body postures)
- Mantras (sound vibrations)
- Mudras (hand positions)
- Bandhas (body locks)
- Meditation (mental focus) and relaxation.
Kundalini Yoga is a journey, it is a tool for really coming to know ourselves.
Yoga is essentially a relationship. Yoga explores your dimensions, depth, nature, and potential as a human being, using, sound, mantra, movement and meditation.
My favourite explanation of yoga is “An Adventure in consciousness” Yogi Bhajan.
“Kundalini Yoga gives you tools to expedite your spiritual growth and healing.”
Yoga is food for the mind, body and soul, it brings us home, allows us to feel peace and peace of mind brings happiness.
The true purpose of this 5000 year-old practice was never about contorting into the perfect pose, yoga is about a lot more than physical prowess and flexibility. Many people think of yoga as just physical exercises. The asana or postures that have gained widespread popularity in recent decades, but these are actually only the most superficial aspects of this profound science of unfolding the infinite potential of the human mind and soul.
- Regular practice of Kundalini yoga can:
- Increase flexibility,
- Expanded lung capacity,
- Gain a strong core,
- Elevate Stress
- Improve Sleep
Kundalini Yoga can develop the power of the intuitive mind and strengthen the nervous system, balances the glands, purifies the blood, and cleans out subconscious thought patterns. You can experience a deep rejuvenating state of total relaxation where healing can take place. Regular practice gives you extra stamina and resilience in the face of everyday stress.
If you like your physical exercise to come with a side of spiritual enlightenment, Kundalini Yoga might be for you.
The very nature of what we do is to awaken the energy of consciousness, to practice in a way that sheds light on our self-imposed limitations and invites us to think out of the box and develop our intuitive mind. Being able to live from our intuitive mind is one of the main goals of a Kundalini practitioner.
Kundalini Yoga is the supreme technology to awaken your awareness and take you into your original Self. It is a natural unfolding of your own nature.
The kriyas are a specific set of exercises that generate energy, organize that energy and deliver you to a specific energetic state.
“In Kundalini Yoga the most important thing is your experience. It goes right to your heart. No words can replace your experience. Your mind may accept the words, or it may not, but your consciousness will not accept just words.”

What Are the Benefits of Pilates?
Pilates is designed to promote strength and balanced muscle development as well as flexibility and increased range of joint motion.
Unlike others forms of exercise, Pilates does not over-develop specific parts of the body and neglect others. While Pilates training focuses mainly on core strength, it trains the body as an integrated whole. Check out this video by Lian here
Other benefits include:
- Increase in flexibility: in our classes, we work towards a safe increase in length and stretch of the muscles and range of motion within the joints.
- Develops core strength: the core muscles of the body are the deep muscles of the back, abdomen, and pelvic floor. When the core is strong, the frame of the body is supported, relaxing the neck and shoulders and increasing motion in the joints.
- Improves posture: good posture is a result of a strong core, enabling you to move more freely as well as helping to ease back pain.
- Increases energy: believe it or not, the more you exercise, the more energy you will have. Pilates works by getting the breath and circulation moving, stimulating the spine and muscles which then floods the body with the good feelings you get when you exercise.
- Promotes weight loss: practicing Pilates on a regular basis will help to change your body shape. The exercises create long, strong muscles which in turn create a leaner look. As with all exercise regimes, you need to burn more calories than you take in. As a full-body fitness method, Pilates, combined with aerobic activity, will help you do that.
- Uniting body and mind: the founder of Pilates (Joseph Pilates) based the whole concept of this exercise on “the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit.” This is one of the main principles of Pilates exercise. When we exercise in this way, the body and mind unite for the most benefit possible from each exercise.
