Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

At the Cosmetik Clinic we offer an extensive range of rejuvenation treatments to customers designed to revitalise the skin, achieving excellent results for our clients.

These treatments have the ability to drastically improve the appearance of your skin and the results are visible after just one treatment as it becomes smoother and healthier.

All our skin rejuvenation treatments are suitable for both men and woman with different skin types and conditions.  We are able to carry these treatments on the face, neck, mouth and hands.

IPL Pigmentation Treatment:

IPL stands for ‘intense pulsed light’. Depending on the wavelength setting, this technology is used to reduce hair growth and skin pigmentation. The light is attracted to dark areas, so this treatment is more effective on fairer skinned people.  IPL can also be used to treat brown skin pigmentation (sun damage and hormone related melasma) as well as red skin pigmentation (rosacea and fine thread veins).

After an initial consultation with one of our experienced therapists, we will determine if IPL is definitely the most suitable treatment you.  (Please note: IPL shouldn’t be undertaken two weeks prior or after a holiday in the sun).

After the skin has been cleansed, a cold gel is applied to the skin to help improve conductivity. treatment.  The therapist will then apply the IPL laser to the skin and fire a short burst of light onto each patch. After the treatment, your skin is cleansed and protected with a UV protection cream.

IPL treatments have the added benefit of reducing the strength of any darker, thicker hairs on your upper lip or chin, so a two-in-one treatment.

After the treatment, your skin may appear a little reddened in patches for a couple of hours after the treatment.  And after a few days, you may notice that the targeted red or brown marks on your face will appear slightly redder or browner. This diminishes quickly over a couple of days and then skin will appear clear and bright. None of this is particularly noticeable or unsightly.

It is vital to visit a reputable clinic with trained dermatologist. Incorrectly executed IPL treatments can cause scarring.  At the Cosmetik Clinic we employ fully trained and qualified IPL practitioners and we are accredited to carry out these treatments by the local health authority.

We always warn our clients that continued exposure to sun or other aggravating factors means skin pigmentation will develop again over time, so it is advised to maintain the good effects with one or two single treatments per year.

IPL works well in combination with chemical peels that also help to lighten skin.

Chemical Peels

Micro-needling Skin Treatments

Micro needling is a pioneering skin treatment used to make the skin surface smooth and even. It can be on the face and many other areas of the body. Skin micro needling treatment helps to achieve healthier, younger, and smoother looking skin.

At the Cosmetik Clinic, we recommend micro-needling for ageing skin, old scars (i.e. scars which have been present for many years that may be fibrous or depressed), acne scarring, cellulite, wrinkles and fine lines. Improvement of skin tone and texture cam also be achieved.

The treatment is based on Electroridopuncture (ERP) and ancient acupuncture techniques. Micro needling treatment is one of the most effective and safe methods of stimulating skin surface healing developed by scientists. During the procedure, skin puncturing happens thousands of times with the purpose of stimulating the skin.

The Micro needle treatment induces a reaction to the cell damage caused by punctures. It triggers the release of growth factors which is a result of the natural immune system response. Along with proteins, triggering of (cytokines) clotting factors occurs to ensure optimum skin healing and cell production stimulation. Simply, the treatment manipulates the natural mechanisms of skin cell production and accelerates healing.

The procedure usually lasts between 30-120 minutes, however this varies on the client and treatment area. We begin with a thorough cleansing of the skin prior to being anesthetised.  We then allow 15 minutes post procedure to nourish and protect the skin.

It is important to take care and wash gently and delicately. You should cleanse only with water for up to 36 hours post procedure to ensure ideal skin health. Also, there shouldn’t be any application of makeup within this time frame.

Our treatments

The recommended number of treatments is 1-6 depending on the client’s individual requirements. By persistently triggering the healing process the body continues to promote cell growth over the skin surface. We recommend minimum treatment intervals of 12 weeks. This allows observation of the full extent of the previous treatment, and the achievement of your desired aesthetic outcome.
